Incorporated in February 1990, the City of SeaTac is located in the Pacific Northwest, approximately midway between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma in the State of Washington. The City has a population of 27,110. SeaTac is a vibrant community, economically strong, environmentally sensitive, and people-oriented. The City boundaries surround the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, (approximately 3 square miles in area) which is owned and operated by the Port of Seattle. Sunrise Dental is very excited to serve the SeaTac area.
We have committed ourselves to the use of our knowledge and experience in providing the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual patient. Dr. Gu
General Dentistry
Gaoman (Gina) Gu, DDS, MSD, PhD
Dr. Gu is a General Practitioner of Dentistry with comprehensive and
advanced training in Orthodontics. She has been in the dental profession
for over 25 years. Dr. Gu completed her dental education and received
DDS degree from the Nanjing Medical University in China in 1983, and she
completed an advanced certification program in Orthodontics from the
4th Military Medical University in China in 1986. She pursued further
Orthodontic training at the Kagoshima University in Japan at the
Department of Orthodontics in 1992 and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy
degree (PhD) in Dental Science in 1997.
She moved to the US in 1997, and worked for the Department of
Orthodontics, at the University of Washington from 1998 to 2001. She
completed a Graduate Program in Oral Medicine and earned a degree of
Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) from the University of Washington
in 2003. Dr. Gu is a multi-culturally disciplined dentist and an
internationally accomplished researcher. Her research has allowed her to
explore various topics in the fields of craniofacial growth and
morphology, head-neck posture, mechanisms of malocclusion, tooth
movement, and bone distraction. She has a number of publications in
various dental journals in the US, Europe, Japan and China. Dr. Gu’s
extensive academic background and her research experience have given her
the ability to meet the needs of her patients far above and beyond
their expectations.
Dr. Mosquera
Periodontist
Betsy Mosquera, DDS, MS
Dr. Betsy Mosquera was born in Bogota, Colombia (South America). She
received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Medical School of
Colombia (Escuela Colombiana de Medicina) in 1991 and moved to the U.S.
in 1995. Prior to settling in Seattle, Dr. Mosquera had a chance to
experience life in Boston, Chicago, New York City, and Saint Louis.
While residing in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Mosquera received an advanced
dental degree in the field of Periodontics at Saint Louis University.
Dr. Mosquera is an active member of American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Mosquera directs our dental hygiene department. Dr. Mosquera takes
care of patients that may require an advanced periodontal care; these
treatments may include dental implants, surgical and non-surgical
treatment of periodontal disease and numerous other surgical procedures
that improve the health of her patients as well as their smile.
Dr. Kim
General Dentistry
Stephen Kim, DDS
Dr. Stephen Kim was born and raised in Seattle. He earned his dental degree
from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2009. Before joining
Sunrise Dental, Dr. Kim practiced in a high-tech, modern dental office in
Bellevue and gained experience in root canal treatment, oral surgery, implants,
dentures and periodontal therapy. He values education and attends multiple
conferences every year to advance and provide the best and most comprehensive
treatment to his patients.
Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington
State Dental Association, Seattle King County Dental Society, the Washington
Academy of General Dentistry and the Interdisciplinary Study Group Northwest.
He is trying to attain his Fellowship in the Washington AGD, an award that
requires at least 500 hours of continuing education and is an achievement only
7% of the nation’s dentists have accomplished.
Dr. Kim believes in serving his community and has teamed up with Medical Teams
International to volunteer and provide emergency dental care to local homeless
people around the greater Seattle area. He has also traveled to many countries
around the world like China, Uzbekistan, Mexico and India to participate in
outreach and mission work. On his free time, he enjoys spending time with
family and friends, reading, golfing and running.
